Driver Requirements
The minimum age for authorised drivers is 21 years old. Each driver must be in possession of a valid driver’s licence (photo card & paper licence). All drivers must be specified at the time of booking. The lead name on the rental vehicle must be in possession of a major credit card to cover security charges and other incidentals. Cash is not accepted. There is no charge for additional drivers..

Arriving on International Flights:
It is necessary to overnight in a hotel before picking up your vehicle.

Opening Hours:
Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Orlando are open 7 days a week, Monday to Saturday 8am to 5pm and Sundays from 8am to 4pm. New York is open Monday to Saturday 8am to 5pm. Denver, Miami, Salt Lake City and Albuquerque open Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. All offices will close on official public holidays. Full details on request.

Minimum Hire:
The minimum rental requirement for any vehicle is 7 days. The maximum is 39 days.

Pick-up and Drop-off Times:
You may only pick up your vehicle between the hours of 1pm and 4pm. Vehicles can be returned between the hours of 8am and 11am. A US$50 per hour penalty will be charged for returns after 8am - 11am without prior authorization from the rental station. No refund is given for any reason if rental is terminated before the scheduled return date or if it is picked up later than the booked day of departure.

Driving Restrictions:
• Due to certain road conditions, extreme weather or acts of God, you may face travel restrictions in certain areas/regions.
• Travel to downtown New York City/Manhattan is not permitted and travel to Death Valley is not permitted during July or August. You may travel in May, June and Sept but you will be liable for all mechanical problems and/or towing or vehicle recovery costs.
• Travel to Alaska or Northern Canada is at your own risk. There is no reimbursement for repairs or lost use.
• Off-road driving is not permitted.
• Travel to Mexico is at your own risk. El Monte will charge a Mexico Auto Liability Insurance fee per day (charged locally). However, there is no reimbursement for repairs, lost use or deductibles for damage.

Cancellations & Amendments:
High cancellation charges may apply, particularly for one-way rentals. Please call for all details.

Included in your Car Hire

Transfers: El Monte offers FREE transfers from certain ‘partner’ hotels to motorhome depots and from the depot to the airport on departure.excluding Denver, Miami, Salt Lake City and Albuquerque. Please call for details No transfers are offered for same day flight arrival. No refunds are given for self-transfer.

Vehicle Preparation: The vehicle is prepared for your rental and includes your first supply of propane gas, toilet chemicals and a full tank of fresh water.

Vehicle Kits: A set of basic kitchen utensils will be included in your hire. Items generally include a kettle, frying pans, bottle opener and cutlery. However items do vary between depots.

Personal Convenience Kits: These more personal items, including sheets, towels, pillowcases and blankets, are also included in your hire.

Unlimited Mileage: All locations offer unlimited mileage. This is a unique feature for El Monte.

Insurance: All motorhomes include Vehicle Incident Protection (VIP) insurance. This reduces your responsibility to US$700 per occurrence in case of overhead/undercarriage damage, damage from vehicle back-up, vandalism, theft, windshield damage regardless of fault and for costs incurred in transporting the vehicle to the rental station, including towing and storage. This is providing you are in compliance with the terms and conditions of the rental contract. Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), which protects you for the difference between underlying insurance and up to US$1 million against claims by third parties is also included in your rental. Taxes: All taxes for PRE-PAID items have been included. However any optional extras, purchased locally will incur taxes.

Not Included in your Car Hire

Security Deposit: You will be required to leave a US$700 security deposit at the time of pick-up. This must be guaranteed by a credit card with sufficient balance to cover this amount. This is only a guarantee and will not appear on your credit card statement. It will automatically be released upon completion of the rental provided that the vehicle is returned clean inside, undamaged and on time. The credit card must be in the name of the lead driver.

Taxes: Taxes will be charged for any incidentals booked locally

Petrol: The cost of petrol is your own responsibility. Tanks are full upon pick-up and must be returned full.

One-way drop fees: All one-ways are on a request basis only and jubject to availability. These must be made at the time of booking. One ways are applicable on all vehicle types and will be charged locally. The one-way prices range from $200-750 depending on the location. Please call for details of all charges.
